Staying Warm

To assist residence without heat or power, NYC has opening Warming Centers throughout the five boroughs.

Emergency Centers are also open to the public for those seeking shelter. Transportation is available to bring people to these locations.

For those using generators, please be cautious to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.


Food, Water, and Blankets

Sixteen distribution sites are located around the city to help people in critical areas. Each person will be able to take three meals and five bottles of water at these sites. Please check each sites operating hours before traveling.


Disaster Assistance Centers

NYC has opened five centers to provide information about applying for emergency social and economic benefits.



NYC tap water is safe to drink.

Breezy Point tap water is not potable and should not be consumed. Bottled water is being distributed to residence.
