Why teach at NYIT?
NYIT is one the most established institutions in New York providing undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees. It's also globally recognized, an aspect that attracted me because I can gain considerable academic exposure. Moreover, its location in the multicultural hub of New York is an environment that I enjoy teaching in.
Auditing, corporate governance, forensic accounting, and XBRL, a global standard for exchanging business information. View my publications.
My personal goals are very much aligned with those of NYIT's 2030 strategic plan. I would like to further investigate my research interests and disseminate this information in the form of peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers. Through my teaching, I hope to create interest and enthusiasm for research into accounting practices among my students. One of my goals is to guide and mentor my students to become strong, independent, resilient researchers.
Teaching and technology
I use the latest technologies to facilitate effective presentation of accounting information through Microsoft Office programs and accounting software such as Peachtree, QuickBooks, and MYOB. Online resources such as Moodle are a great way to share relevant course content in advance of teaching sessions so that students can prepare work and learn at their own pace.
