I had never dreamed of being in the city for college, but it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I now have a love for the fast-paced lifestyle of a New Yorker.
Clubs and Organizations
Attendee of the 2011 National Center for Student Leadership annual conference in Miami, resident assistant, and president of the S.W.A.G. club at NYIT-Manhattan. S.W.A.G. stands for Students Working to Achieve Greatness. It conveys overall confidence, style and demeanor, and does not discriminate against one's sex, religion, and/or ethnicity. The organization aims to reach beyond NYIT's borders into the local community by means of student involvementall with the goal of making change.
In addition, I serve as an intern at New York Sun Works, a nonprofit organization. I work on the Greenhouse Project, which is dedicated to improving environmental science in urban schools. Through state-of-the-art hydroponic greenhouse science labs, the project's goal is to provide tomorrow's decision-makers with an elevated set of skills, a broader perspective, and a lasting sense of commitment to lead the global community in an environmentally efficient way.
When I was honored as Student Leader of the Year at NYIT's Student Affairs Awards Ceremony. The feeling is amazing that I have impacted students to become better people and I want to do more on campus.
My mother, sister, and HEOP Director Deepa Bhalla. Without these three women, I do not know how I would be on a path to success.
I plan to attend graduate school. My hope is that I will find a successful career in the marketing or advertising industry.
