IMy NYIT experience has been great for the first semester. Some professors were great to have for class, but some were worst to have because they have accents and can’t speak English clearly enough to be understood. So far NYIT has been great in my life because my dad always wanted me to go there for my further studies. I am an HEOP student. This program has helped me to get into college. I am really thankful to the staff of the HEOP for accepting me in their program.
Friendships have a great impact in my life. When I attended the HEOP 2009 Summer Institute, I made two special friends who were from my country. I was really pleased to meet them and I value their friendship. During lunch breaks we made even more new friends. The HEOP students were truly friendly and pleasant to each other and in my opinion everyone should have this kind of quality in them. At lunch time we all sat together at one big table which we called the HEOP table. We felt sad to see the Summer Institute come to an end.
My career plans are to be a Doctor and fulfill my dad’s dream. I was inspired to do this after volunteering in a hospital. I worked in the pharmacy where I had to deliver medicines to different departments. When I delivered to a nursing home I was able to see and speak with some of the patients. They seemed to enjoy talking with me also. This experience led me to want to be a doctor and help patients to believe there is hope.
My hobby is chatting on the internet with my old friends from middle school and with the new friends I found here at NYIT.
