Entrepreneurship and the arts
Because my true passion is in the arts, I started a mini art business last year, which is helping me practice the hobby I love and do commissions and custom artworks.
NYIT’s business program has enhanced the entrepreneurship spirit I have by providing me with knowledge and skills, and by introducing me to the various business industries.
It’s a very diverse and friendly community where you get to meet individuals from various backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities. Switching from my university back in Syria to NYIT-Abu Dhabi was a bit of a challenge in the beginning; but the teachers and students here are very cooperative and friendly, so it didn't take long to settle in.
Advice for a young student
Growing up, we are fascinated by the concept of freedom. We want to be free from mundane things such as responsibilities, hard work, paying bills, and college, because they all seem confining. But a good education is actually your ticket to freedom and the possibility to have a secure life.
If you do anything in this life, make certain that you stay in school. Even if you don't know where you’re going, you’ll eventually figure it out, so don’t quit, don’t stall, and stay with it until you have reached your goal.
In the future
I’d love to introduce a new idea to the market that would be useful, efficient, and sustainable.
