Kathryn Boehmer is a midfielder for the women's soccer team and a Student Government Association (SGA) senator who will be representing athletics and recreation during the 2013-2014 academic year at NYIT-Old Westbury.
Why study at NYIT?
Because of the prestigious reputation of the occupational therapy program. An athletics scholarship helped with my financial situation.
As I enter my senior year as a student-athlete, I want to expand my horizons and become more involved in activities outside of athletics.
I'm a member of the Youth Advisory Board for New Ground, an organization in Hempstead, N.Y. Its goal is to obliterate homelessness. The group works with about 24 families and helps them get back on their feet.
Occupational therapist in the neonatal intensive care unit of a hospital.
My parents. They have done everything to help me succeed in life and are there for me.
I love to paint and draw and do yoga.
