Favorite NYIT Moments
I have great experiences every day working with our student-athletes. I'm proud of working with so many wonderful men and women.
I had originally planned on veterinary school as I began my undergraduate degree at St. Lawrence University. I attended a workshop on sports medicine as part of orientation weekend and started as a student athletic trainer shortly thereafter. I always had an interest in helping others, and it seemed like a good fit for me. The more I became involved with the athletic teams at St. Lawrence and my knowledge base grew, the more it became apparent that athletic training would become my career.
The National Athletic Trainers Association and New York State Athletic Trainers Association.
Ron Waske from St. Lawrence and Mike Matheny from Ithaca College. They gave me my foundation in athletic training, and I learned the majority of my clinical skills from them. Both of these men are well-liked and respected by their peers. It was their work ethic and love for the profession that inspired me to work in a collegiate setting.
When I was 13, my family bought me a cow for my birthday.
Fishing, gardening, cooking, and baking with my children. My family and I were recently part of an episode of Lunkerville, a fishing TV show that airs nationwide on NBC Sports Network. Watch the episode.
