Campus: Manhattan Major: Life Sciences/Biology, B.S.
My life changed when I received my acceptance letter to attend New York Institute of Technology, Manhattan campus. I grew up in Valley Stream on Long Island and graduated from Holy Trinity Diocesan High School. Never did I imagine that I would be attending a college in New York City, but this has proven to be the best decision I could have ever made. I love everything that this city and NYIT have to offer!
I am a Life Sciences/Biology major and plan to graduate with my bachelor’s degree in 2014. I would like to be either be a physician assistant or a respiratory therapist and use the skills I have learned here at NYIT to help others. My goal is to use my intended profession to encourage and motivate my patients to never give up.
I am very involved at NYIT, as well as in my community back home. I love to help others and make a change in their lives. I am member of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. The goal of this honor society is to encourage and reward academic excellence among students in institutions of higher learning. Being a part of this honor society allows me to participate in local chapter events which promote campus service and community outreach. I was recently chosen to attend the National Center for Student Leadership (NCSL) annual conference in Miami, Florida. I am also the co-founder and Vice President of a new club at NYIT called S.W.A.G, which stands for Students Working to Achieve Greatness. S.W.A.G. hopes to form a community of members who work together to provide campus programs that help students both academically and socially. My experiences at NYIT have been memorable, and I hope to stay involved on campus throughout my time here.
