I transferred from Queensborough Community College in the fall of 2008. When I came to NYIT for the first time for an interview, I was nervous by looking at new faces, but when I was accepted and on my first day of classes, I was welcomed by all the professors and I still remember people coming up to me and asking me "are you a freshman." They were feel friendly and made me comfortable among them. I came to NYIT with only one goal: that I have to achieve a DPT and make my parents proud. Now that I am starting my program in May 2010, I can't wait to experience grad school and finish up, because ever since I was in junior high school, I wanted to become a physical therapist. aNow that I am just couple more years away from it I feel that NYIT has made it possible for me and it's helping me reach my goal.
I didn't work before and one of my friends told me to do work study. So I started work study in fall 2009 and everyone in the Office of Admissions is so kind and helpful. They never overload us with work and tell us to do as much as we can; neither they tell us what time to come or what time to go. They are very very flexible with the schedule, and we can go in whenever we want and leave accordingly.
Being in NYIT has been a very wonderful journey so far and I hope to be the same in coming years!
