Department: Architecture School: Architecture and Design Campus: Old Westbury
Member of NYIT Since: 1966
Professor Anthony Di Santo holds a special distinction in the School of Architecture and Design – as of 2011, he is one of its longest-serving faculty member.
Di Santo has helped to build the NYIT architecture program from the days when he taught classes in Manhattan – first on the windowless 10th floor of the Knights of Pythias building and later at an old Woolworth's store on Amsterdam Avenue. Before long, he became a fixture on the Old Westbury campus.
For 45 years, Di Santo has observed and applied technological advances to his architecture classes. During this time, his message to students has remained the same – technology is great, but nothing substitutes for the ability to think creatively.
