I’m obsessed with the color purple. It’s my ultimate favorite color and the best in the world. Almost everything I own is or has purple in it. My cell is purple with a hard cover, purple, cheetah print case. The bedding and pillows in my dorm are purple. It’s very safe to say that I have a purple obsession and that I prefer anything I own to be purple.
Favorite NYIT Experience
NYIT has a lot of activities and events taking place throughout the school year. During my sophomore year here, I participated in the annual NYIT Fashion Show with my roommate. I had never been in a fashion show before so I thought it would be a great experience and lots of fun. I enjoyed every step of making the fashion show a great success. I liked going to different stores to pick outfits, helping other girls with their choices, practicing our runway walk, and much more. Although my mother and close family couldn’t attend, some of my best friends from home were able to come and show their support. That was great. The night of show was nerve-racking, but after one walk on stage, I was able to keep going and enjoyed every minute of it. Overall, the fashion show was a wonderful and fun-filled experience that I’d love to do again. Also, I’d even like to plan the whole fashion show to make it even bigger than it was.
Why I chose NYIT
During my senior year of high school, college applications were coming left and right and I didn’t know what to do or where I should go. Counselors and advisors all told me the same thing, “just go to a school your parents can afford.” That really didn’t help my situation, it only made things worse.
In order to clear my mind of all the college confusion, I took a break. I just relaxed in my room while listening to some music. As I started to de-stress, a commercial for NYIT played. I listened to it and added it to my list of potential colleges. The commercial played again and again so I went online to see what NYIT had to offer. To my surprise, NYIT seemed to be a really great school for me. It offered friendly people, fun activities, my major, and a campus that was close to home. So, I decided to attend an open house. After the first five minutes of the open house, I knew that NYIT was the school for me. I applied and was accepted with a scholarship into the School of Engineering and Computing Sciences!
