I am a currently a freshman attending New York Institute of Technology. I entered through the HEOP program. In addition to being part of this wonderful program, I attended a five-week mandatory workshop that familiarizes freshmen with the college environment. This program was fun and I met many freshmen and other HEOP students. I made friendships that will last through my college years. This program has been supportive to my financial and academic needs. Last semester, we were provided tutors who helped me to bring my grades up. I am looking forward to studying and utilizing the tutors this semester. I will be trying out for the dance team called Dhadkan, continuing to work in the HEOP office, and I am looking forward in completing my education at NYIT with a B.S./D.O. degree
