The U.S. Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), the Honorable Michael H. Corbin, and NYIT President Edward Guiliano hosted an evening reception on Feb. 10 in the ambassador’s residence for the Abu Dhabi education and business communities.

President Guiliano and Ambassador Corbin greeted more than 60 guests, including NYIT students, alumni, and local business leaders of organizations such as Etisalat (the U.A.E.’s major telecommunications company), Exxon, Raytheon, and dozens of others. Ambassador Corbin praised NYIT’s accomplishments in Abu Dhabi and around the world, and President Guiliano presented highlights about his vision for global higher education and the contributions of NYIT’s nearly 600 alumni in the Emirates to the region’s knowledge economy.

On Feb. 11, Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and NYIT signed an agreement facilitating mutual cooperation in the fields of research, institutional development, and training. The agreement was signed at a formal ceremony held at the ADX main offices in Abu Dhabi. Abdul Aziz Al Neaimi, assistant chief executive of ADX, and President Guiliano signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of their respective organizations in the presence of senior representatives from both sides.
