NYIT’s Cross-Campus Collaboration Recognized at Motorola Golden-i®dea Competition

NYIT Team Third Eye Wins Third Place at Golden-i®dea Competition

Old Westbury, N.Y. (November 17, 2011)—Team Third Eye, a multi-disciplinary team of undergraduate and graduate students from NYIT-New York and NYIT-Nanjing, placed third at the Golden-i®dea Competition and Partner Conference at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion.

The team competed to create real-world applications for Motorola Solutions’ Golden-i, the world’s first hands-free, wireless headset computer. Third Eye’s project programmed the computer to operate a drone which could help workers explore unknown territories. Their proposal would allow guards on surveillance duty to oversee different locations simultaneously—optimizing their performance, efficiency, and productivity.
