The impact of an NYIT education across the globe garnered the university its latest honor at the 2012 Asian Education Leadership Awards on Sept. 25 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Garon Wheeler, Ph.D. (pictured, middle), campus dean at NYIT-Abu Dhabi, accepted the award for outstanding contribution to education on behalf of President Guiliano and NYIT at the Taj Palace Hotel.
"NYIT has been a leader in international education for years, so it is satisfying to have recognition of President Guiliano, the man who has been the driving force behind our efforts to create a global university," Wheeler says.
The Asian Education Leadership Awards honor visionary leadership by organizations and businesses whose initiatives drive entrepreneurial growth, build an academic-industry interface for the exchange of ideas, and contribute to the continent's economic development. The event is organized by the Asian Confederation of Businesses with partners CMO Asia and Stars of the Industry Group.
