NYIT Medical Pros & Students Participate in Training Course

NYIT hosted the Nassau County Department of Health's Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Pediatric Core Disaster Management Training Course on March 27 and April 3 in Old Westbury. More than 55 MRC members and NYIT faculty and students attended the two-day, eight-hour course, which was a successful academic service partnership between Nassau County and NYIT's College of Osteopathic Medicine and School of Health Professions. Pictured are Carol Caico (center), Ph.D., assistant professor of nursing, and Susan Neville (far right), Ph.D., R.N., associate professor and chairperson of the Department of Nursing.

In addition, the NYIT Department of Nursing held the spring colloquium, "Augmenting Healing through Alternative Therapies," on March 15 in Old Westbury. The event, attended by nearly 300 nurses, health practitioners, and students, highlighted holistic assessment and treatment modalities with a focus on nursing research and the outcomes of holistic programs and patient care studies.
