Can you please tell me details of NYIT MBA? How many Indians enrolled for this course?

QUESTIONS

First name: Aditya

I am Aditya from India willing to pursue MBA from Canada. Can you please tell me details of NYIT MBA? How many Indians enrolled for this course?

I have completed my Bachelor of engineering in computers and currently have ongoing 3.4 years experience in Tech Mahindra India as a IT Infrastructure consultant. I belongs to IT service management industry. Please find my attached resume.

Importantly being an IT guy, I would also like if MBA has some essence of Management Info.Systems( Can I also opt for M.S.-INCS along with MBA? ). Please guide on this aspect.

I am keen to know that does reputation of university matter to grab job after graduation or its completely based on our experience and skills? If yes,how do you see NYIT in this scenario?

I would like if you address my above concerns as a FAQ style(my questions, your answers)

Question: How many years does it take to be an analyst in a investment bank?

Answer: Hello Sean! That’s a simple question with a not-so-simple answer as there are a lot of factors involved. First – different banks will have different hiring practices. Second – your work experience, academic experience, and aptitude will impact the qualifications required for the specific position. If you hope to be an analyst in an investment bank, I would strongly suggest that you meet with the faculty in the Accounting & Finance department to plan your course of study and discuss your plans for internships and experiential education in order to get a solid start. You should start by meeting with Dr. J.K. Yun (jyun04@nyit.edu).

Question: What courses should I take in order for I to be an investment banker.  Should I major in finance if I want to be an investment banker?  Is accounting an important course related to investment banking?

Answer: Sean, I believe you’re on the right track!  I would definitely recommend that you study finance if you want to become an investment banker.  Accounting is indeed important in the study of finance and you will see that the finance concentration in our BSBA program includes a few accounting courses such as Managerial Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis.  Good luck! http://www.nyit.edu/management/undergraduate/business_admin/finance/
