NYIT seeks a Supervisor, to manage and operate the Café within Campus Dining in Old Westbury. Candidate will be responsible for the planning and execution of daily hot and cold food production as well as assigning and delegating tasks to the staff, training of the staff in food preparation, presentation, customer service, kitchen safety and sanitation. Candidate must also be able to work every aspect of the location, from food production, to working the register. Other responsibilities include the development and production of healthy and fresh menus, organizing and placing weekly orders, conducting monthly inventories, creating weekly schedules along with daily work plans, ensuring all team members are following proper sanitation (HACCP) guidelines and follow all departmental procedures regarding opening and closing, requisitioning and end of day reports. Candidate may also be required to perform live cooking demonstrations and work at any location under the Dining Services Department.
.Must have a minimum of three years experience in banquet style service and managing a staff of more than eight in a fast paced food service environment. A valid Food Managers Training Certificate provided by the Nassau County Dept. of Health is needed and a minimum of two years professional culinary training. Candidate needs to be able to manage inventories, know how to manage and calculate food costs and must be fluent in the use of Excel, Word and Outlook. A valid NYS Drivers License needed. The ideal candidate must have a strong commitment to teamwork, customer service, leadership, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
