Position

Director, Enterprise Systems & Services

Department: Information Technology and Infrastructure

Primary Location: Old Westbury

Responsibilities: NYIT seeks a Director of Enterprise Systems & Services to oversee the operations of all supported enterprise and departmental systems for the University’s Information Technology and Infrastructure division. Reporting directly to the VP for Information Technology and Infrastructure, the selected candidate will function as the lead project manager for all system implementation initiatives and oversee a large portfolio of projects. More specifically, he/she will develop, revise, and propose all the necessary policies and procedures relevant to enterprise and departmental system development, enhancement, testing, administration, maintenance, patching, upgrading, security, change management; develop, revise, and propose all the necessary policies and procedures for customer support and application support, including trouble reporting, issue resolution, solution implementation, and customer reporting; ensure compliance with all existing policies and procedures; organize and support formal user groups for all enterprise systems for proper governance, strategic management, and assessment; analyze and assess emerging technology trends and make recommendations regarding the existing and future enterprise and departmental systems; develop and provide regular and special status reports for production systems, new systems implementation, and special projects as directed by the VP for ITI; negotiate and maintain responsibility for managing various IT related vendor contracts. Assist with and create requests for proposals for IT related projects; translate and articulate administrative and educational goals of the institution into technical initiatives; manage staff and budgets in a rapidly changing technical environment; provide on-call coverage outside of business hours on a routine basis and for special projects.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of ten years of gradually more responsible relevant experience required. Master’s degree is preferred. The selected candidate must be able to demonstrate success with deployment, integration, and support of enterprise systems in a complex multi-user, multi-platform environment; He/she must possess extensive knowledge and experience with enterprise systems (experience with enterprise systems in a higher education environment is strongly preferred); familiarity with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Oracle eBusiness Suite preferred; demonstrated experience in customer service and service methodology; familiarity with various development environments (PeopleSoft and Oracle development environments preferred); proficiency with development lifecycle, development standards, and quality assurance; experience with federal, state, and institutional compliance for enterprise systems; hands-on experience with various enterprise systems; strong analytical and organization skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; experience with IT staff coordination, supervision, and management.
