Assistant Director, Financial Aid
NYIT’s Old Westbury campus, seeks an Assistant Director for the Office of Financial Aid. The Assistant Director ‘s responsibilities include but are not limited to analyzing financial aid applications, and other confidential information in order to compliantly determine the award packaging of financial aid eligibility for a student applicant. Additionally the Assistant Director needs to perform quality analysis reviews of financial aid awarding, processing and corrections, maintain current knowledge regarding federal, state and institutional regulations in regard to federal aid and advise students as well as parents/guardians about costs, financial aid policies, procedures, programs, funding limitations, and options. The Assistant Director will need to manage one or more department areas (e.g. College Work Study, reconciliation, NYS funding, consortiums, etc.) or oversee a functional responsibility. He/she will continue to expand his/her technology abilities as it relates to the student information system (PeopleSoft) and participate in the development of continued enhancements and adjustments necessary to achieve a superior financial aid database for the university. The Assistant Director will serve on a divisional or university team or committee, as the Office of Financial Aid’s representative, as well as develop external relationships with appropriate professional organizations.
