Assistant Director, Admissions

Responsibilities: NYIT seeks an Assistant Director of Admissions for the College of Osteopathic Medicine located at the Old Westbury campus. Candidate will review applications for the D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) program, advise students on admissions requirements and application process and recruit extensively on a national level which will include evenings and weekends. The Assistant Director will conduct presentations to pre-med students, prepare appropriate progress reports on recruitment activities and foster relationships with pre-med advisors in an effort to recruit the best candidates for the medical school. He/she will be responsible for the correspondence with students for inquiries and outreach, coordinate on campus events (Open House, Information Sessions), assist in the coordination of special programs and participate in Student Affairs events (White Coat Ceremony, Hooding).
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of 3 years admissions experience, graduate and professional school level preferred. Must be willing to travel extensively on a national level and work independently. Must have excellent verbal, presentation and computer skills, as well as be flexible and adaptable to change.
