Part Time Dining Room Captain– NYIT deSeversky Mansion
Under the direction of the Dining Room Manager, the Dining Room Captain’s primary responsibility will be to oversee all dining room operations from setup, decor and display of all food stations, as well as coordinate accurate, timely room turnovers. Provide clear direction to team members to ensure execution of events service is performed according to event timelines. Assist culinary in monitoring food quality and adherence to event menu. Additional responsibility is to maintain that all equipment is handled and stored appropriately. The Dining Room Captain must demonstrate excellent customer service while maintaining sanitation standards in compliance with county and state regulations, NYIT health and safety regulations and HACCP policies. The selected candidate will also be responsible for assisting with administrative duties, including inventory, payroll, scheduling, ordering supplies, preparing daily reports, executing opening and closing procedures for the facility, conducting pre-meal meetings with management and staff, and providing training and employee development for staff.
Minimum of one year a la carte and catering table service experience, previous staff supervisory experience and a ServSafe certificate are required. Excellent interpersonal, communication and computer (MS Office) skills are also required.
