Associate Provost for Academic Affairs

Responsibilities: NYIT is seeking an exceptional leader to become its Associate Provost for Academic Affairs. Reporting to the Provost, the selected candidate will be responsible for handling and facilitating support and guidance for new curriculum development proposals; reviewing and finalizing new degree and program proposals; liaising with state and governmental agencies to obtain new program approvals; representing and serving on a variety of institutional committees; overseeing part-time faculty hires as well as reviewing and approving part-time faculty compensation, overloads, stipends, and grade appeals; reviewing and managing catalog updates and changes; actively participating in NYIT’s deans’ council; supervising direct reports in the Office of the Registrar and Vocational Independence Program; interacting with parents, students, faculty, staff, and administration; working on special projects assigned by the Provost; contributing to the advancement of the mission and the Office of Academic Affairs; and representing the Provost at internal or external events in his absence.

Qualifications: Candidates must hold a terminal degree from an accredited institution; have achieved a senior-level faculty position; have 10 years of academic experience; possess substantial higher education administrative experience; be organized and detailed oriented; be able to work collaboratively with a wide range of constituencies; exhibit strong leadership through collaborative, shared decision-making processes; demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; show the ability to work with minimal supervision in a deadline-oriented environment; and display proficiency with data analysis and data-driven decision-making.
