Larry Herman Elected President of American Academy of Physician Assistants

Larry Herman

Congrats to Larry Herman, associate professor and director of physician assistant (PA) admissions and primary care initiatives, who has been elected president of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the only organization representing PAs globally and in all specialties and practice settings. It is the national equivalent of the American Medical Association for M.D.s or the American Osteopathic Association for D.O.s

The AAPA advocates and educates on behalf of the profession; works to ensure the professional growth, personal excellence, and recognition of PAs; and is dedicated to enhancing their ability to improve the quality, accessibility, and cost-effectiveness of patient-centered health care. Currently, there are nearly 100,000 PAs and PA students and the profession is expected to double in size in the next decade.
