Winter Holidays

NYIT wishes you happy holidays and best wishes for the new year. The New York campuses will be closed from Monday, Dec. 23 through Wednesday, Jan. 1. Before you leave for the winter break, here are some things to do:

Prepare Your Timesheet: Holiday Time Off

Enter time off for the upcoming winter break on your online timesheet using NYIT's new paperless payroll system, as follows:

  • If you earn more than 10 days of vacation:
    You must use four days of personal or vacation time. Enter Dec. 23, 26, 27, and 30 as vacation or personal days. The paid holidays (Dec. 24, 25, and 31) should remain blank.
  • If you earn 10 days of vacation or less:
    You must use three days of personal or vacation time. Enter Dec. 26, 27, and 30 as vacation or personal days. The paid holidays (Dec. 24, 25, and 31) should remain blank.
  • If you started at NYIT in 2013:
    You do not have to designate any days during the break as vacation or personal days.

Set Your Out-Of-Office Voicemail and Email Messages

Before leaving for the holiday break, remember to set your out-of-office message for voicemail and email by following NYIT guidelines. We'll be looking to catch three faculty or staff members with the right out-of-office message. Winners will receive a free tote bag and Post-it Note cube.
