Assessment Day for NYIT Faculty You're invited to a discussion of the learning outcome, "Global Perspective/World View," in degree programs and core seminars, on Wednesday, Aug. 27 at NYIT's New York campuses. Boxed lunches will be served. Agenda includes:

  • Plenary sessions: 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Old Westbury (Rockefeller Auditorium), and Manhattan (16 W. 61st St., room 723).
  • Afternoon sessions: 12:30-2:30 p.m. Join your department to work on the assessment of program learning outcomes.

NYIT-Manhattan Library Tours Learn about your library's services and resources. Tours meet in the library entrance on the ground floor of the Edward Guiliano Global Center, as follows:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 10, 7:30-8 a.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 11, 1-1:30 p.m.
  • Monday, Sept. 15, 1-1:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 17, 7:30-8 a.m.

Library Skills Workshops Attend our workshops on Web resources and book searches, 1-1:30 p.m., Edward Guiliano Global Center, room 302. They include:

  • Introduction to Online Resources: Wednesday, Sept. 17. Learn about the library's online resources, tour our website, and gain experience in searching for online materials.
  • Finding Books in the Library: Thursday, Sept. 25. Explore searching for print books and e-books via the NYIT library catalog, learn to use interlibrary loan services, and find materials at libraries worldwide through Worldcat and New York Public Library.

NYIT Cybersecurity Conference Our annual conference will feature speakers from IBM, CIA, and Cisco, including many alumni, on Thursday, Sept. 18, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. at NYIT Auditorium on Broadway in Manhattan. R.S.V.P. for the conference.

Year of Turkey Events Mark your calendar for NYIT's Year of Turkey events, including:

  • Webinar: Learn about using the collaborative Web tool Edmodo for teaching on Monday, Oct. 13, 9-10 a.m.
  • Turkish Art Exhibition: Attend an opening reception on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 4-7 p.m. at NYIT Gallery 61, 16 W. 61st St., 11th floor, Manhattan campus.
