Presidential Engagement Awards There are only a few days left to submit nominations for this year's awards, which will recognize faculty and staff who have made major contributions to the NYIT community, including student engagement in cross-disciplinary activities. Submit your nominations by Thursday, May 15. Awards will be presented at NYIT Convocation.

NYIT Commencement Celebrate the Class of 2014 at NYIT's 53rd annual commencement on Sunday, May 18, 9:30 a.m. in the main tent (parking lot in front of tennis courts) at the Old Westbury campus. The ceremony will be webcast live on our website.

Bearsday Thursday Join in a new campus tradition and wear your NYIT attire or anything blue and gold every Thursday to show support for the Bears. Share photos of yourself and colleagues in NYIT gear on Facebook and Twitter (use hashtags #nyit, #nyitpride, and #bearnation) or email them to Mehtap Donuk, director of student activities and leadership development, at mdonuk@nyit.edu.

NYIT Film and Animation Festival Attend NYIT's first-ever, campus-wide film and animation festival on Friday, May 16, 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. at NYIT Auditorium on Broadway, Manhattan campus. For more information, email assialakhlif@gmail.com.

Ed Tech Ambassadors Luncheon Join NYIT's Senate Educational Technology Committee for a luncheon on Thursday, May 22, 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at 16 W. 61st St., 11th floor auditorium, Manhattan campus. This is a meet, greet, and share event for faculty members interested in using educational technology creatively with their students. NYIT's group of educational technology ambassadors is an offshoot of the committee co-sponsored by the Center for Teaching and Learning. The group aims to build an interdisciplinary community of faculty members who use educational technology in innovative ways and share their expertise with colleagues. R.S.V.P. online by Friday, May 16.

Long Island Ducks Baseball Game Get your free tickets for a 2014 matchup of the Ducks vs. Somerset Patriots on Saturday, May 31, 7:05 p.m. at 3 Court House Drive, Central Islip, N.Y. Energy Conference Save the date for NYIT's energy conference on "energy in motion by road, rail, and drone," Thursday, June 12, 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. at NYIT de Seversky Mansion, Old Westbury campus.
