New Practices New York 2012 View work by Holler Architecture, run by Tobias Holler, assistant professor of architecture, on display through Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Center for Architecture, 536 LaGuardia Place, Manhattan. The exhibit, organized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), features seven firms selected as AIA New Practices New York 2012, a biennial award recognizing and promoting innovative and emerging architecture firms in New York City. Much of Holler's work was done in tandem with his NYIT coursework.

Optimism Walk and Paws for Parkinson’s Event Raise money for Parkinson's disease on Saturday, Oct. 6 and enjoy activities such as a 1.3-mile walk, a "Halloween Hounds" doggie costume contest, prizes, raffles, giveaways, and refreshments at Belmont Lake State Park, Babylon, N.Y. The rain-or-shine event runs from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and is sponsored by the Adele Smithers Parkinson’s Disease Treatment Center at NYIT. Read more.
