Lumen Prize Exhibition

Lumen Prize Exhibition View digital creations by international artists now through Saturday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. at NYIT Gallery 61, 16 W. 61st St., 11th floor, Manhattan campus. In conjunction with the exhibition, there will be:

Film Screening Attend a free screening of Frances Ha starring Greta Gerwig on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at NYIT Auditorium on Broadway, Manhattan campus. It will be followed by a Q&A with the film's leading lady. R.S.V.P. to aob@nyit.edu.

Free Flick On Wednesday, Nov. 6, watch the Robert Altman film, The Long Goodbye, at 5:30 p.m. at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion, room 102 (The Soundstage), Old Westbury campus. Refreshments will be served.

Senate Educational Technology Committee Meeting It will be on Thursday, Nov. 7, 12:45-2:10 p.m. in Harry Schure Hall, distance learning room 2, Old Westbury campus. All are welcome to attend and join one or more of the Ed Tech subcommittees. Sign up for a subcommittee.

Health Fair Get vital health information on Thursday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Bear's Den, NYIT-Old Westbury. There will be information on STIs, contraception, breast/testicular self-exams, and stress management as well as hypertension screenings. A representative from the U.S. Department of Health will give a presentation at 1 p.m.

Entrepreneurship Seminar Series You're invited to a presentation by Zev Asch, president of Ledaza Inc., on Thursday, Nov. 7, 12:45-2 p.m. in Manhattan (Edward Guiliano Global Center, rooms 702 and 704) and Old Westbury (Harry Schure Hall, room 227 and distance learning room 1). The series is part of NYIT's "Entrepreneurship Path for Undergraduate Students: Turning Ideas into Companies" program, launched by the School of Engineering and Computing Sciences in coordination with the School of Management and with support from the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance. The program provides students with the skills, tools, and roadmap to successfully translate their ideas and research into commercially valuable innovations and/or companies.

TIAA-CREF Appointments A TIAA-CREF representative will be visiting NYIT's New York campuses to provide personal investment and retirement counseling for program participants. You Give Goods NYIT is partnering with You Give Goods to help City Harvest and Island Harvest secure food for New York City and Long Island communities by Saturday, Nov. 30—and it’s all done online! No need to carry pounds of food on the train or from your car to campus. Please donate what you can, and encourage friends and colleagues to do the same. The goal is to raise $2,500 each for City Harvest and Island Harvest. Support an existing NYIT team or email rmanni01@nyit.edu to create your own. The winning team receives a prize. Make a donation.

Citation Workshops Are your students stressing out over citations? Don't let them! Send them to citation workshops where NYIT librarians will show them how to use RefWorks to manage and cite all of their sources. Faculty and staff members are welcome to attend.

Cut 'n' Paste: From Architectural Assemblage to Collage City Architectural renderings created for NYIT's design of a recycling center in Costa Rica will be included in an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art through Sunday, Dec. 1 at 11 W. 53 St., New York City. Read more.
