Girl Rising

Free Flick On Wednesday, Oct. 16, watch the Milos Forman film, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, 5:30 p.m. at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion, room 102 (The Soundstage), Old Westbury campus. Refreshments will be served.

Citation Workshops Are your students stressing out over citations? Don't let them! Send them to citation workshops where NYIT librarians will show them how to use RefWorks to manage and cite all of their sources. Faculty and staff members are welcome to attend.

Paws for Parkinson's Event Join the American Parkinson Disease Association on Sunday, Oct. 27, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Marjorie Post Park in Massapequa, N.Y. Activities include a one-mile walk and Halloween Hounds doggie costume contest. There will be prizes, raffles, and giveaways, and refreshments will be served. All money raised will fund Parkinson's research. Cost is $25, and each registrant receives a T-shirt (while supplies last). Walk with or without a dog. Smart Grid Technologies and Opportunities David Leopold and Bruce Germano of EC Infosystems will give the presentation, "Smart Grid Technologies and Opportunities," on Monday, Nov. 4, 7-8:30 p.m. in Theobald Hall, room 411, NYIT-Old Westbury. Yoga and Pilates Classes The NYIT Athletics Department hosts free yoga and pilates classes during the fall 2013 semester for NYIT faculty, staff, and students on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:45-1:45 p.m. in Recreation Hall, Old Westbury campus. Participants must bring their own mat (at least a half-inch thick), towel, and water bottle, and dress in workout gear, not street clothing.

Cut 'n' Paste: From Architectural Assemblage to Collage City Architectural renderings created for NYIT's design of a recycling center in Costa Rica will be included in an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art through Sunday, Dec. 1 at 11 W. 53 St., New York City. Read more.
