Yoga and Pilates Classes The NYIT Athletics Department hosts free yoga and pilates classes during the fall 2013 semester for NYIT faculty, staff, and students on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:45-1:45 p.m. in Recreation Hall, Old Westbury campus. Participants must bring their own mat (at least a half-inch thick), towel, and water bottle, and dress in workout gear, not street clothing.
Performance Enhancing Drugs Workshop NYIT's Counseling and Wellness Center will host a workshop on Thursday, Oct. 3, 12:45-2:10 p.m. at Anna Rubin Hall, room 308, Old Westbury campus. Benjamin J. Cecil 5K Walk for Independence Join the NYIT Vocational Independence Program for its annual walk to support a scholarship in memory of former student Benjamin J. Cecil on Saturday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. at 300 Carleton Ave., Independence Hall, Central Islip, N.Y. Cost is $25. The 5K path is handicap accessible, and refreshments will be served during the walk.
