The NYIT Office of Development announced two significant donations this week. This is the first of ongoing announcements in upcoming NYIT Weekly Updates regarding fundraising activities and donors.

NYIT President Edward Guiliano has shared news of gifts from two prominent members of the NYIT Board of Trustees:

First Vice President of Investments for Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees Linda Davila (B.S. '78), pictured top left, has committed $300,000 in support of endowed scholarships and NYIT's Annual Giving Program. "As an alumna who has experienced NYIT's evolution into a prominent 21st-century global institution firsthand and has been personally involved in its extraordinary transformation, I am thrilled about our future and so very proud to provide a foundation for the next decades to support NYIT and its students," she says.

Peter Ferentinos, CEO of Qualco, Inc. and NYIT's longest-standing board member, pictured top right, has donated $1 million in support of endowed scholarships, annual scholarships, and the Annual Giving Program. "I've been involved with the great work of NYIT for more than 25 years, and I am excited to be able to support the next generations of scholars who will carry on the university's mission and vision," he says. Ferentinos will receive an honorary degree of commercial science at NYIT's commencement on Sunday, May 19.
