At a special ceremony on April 25 at NYIT-Manhattan, 20 students and staff members were inducted into NYIT's first National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), a service organization of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls. The event was hosted by the Office of Housing and Residential Life and featured guest speaker Zennabelle Sewell, associate dean of campus life for NYIT-Manhattan, who spoke of the importance of making a difference in a person's life.
"If everyone resolved to help one person," Sewell told attendees, "can you imagine how wonderful the world would be?"
Established in 1964, the NRHH honors leaders who embrace student involvement and teamwork in residence hall living across educational, social, and recreational areas. NYIT's NRHH chapter is among more than 175 nationwide.
