NYIT welcomes Tony Repalone (B.S. '05) as the new director of security at the Old Westbury campus. He joins NYIT from Dowling College, where he was director of campus safety.

"I consider it an honor to have been selected as director of security at NYIT's Old Westbury campus," says Repalone. "As an alumnus of NYIT, I have a vested interest in ensuring that campus security provides and maintains a highly professional security service for all our students, faculty, staff, and visitors."

Repalone's experience in public safety and law enforcement includes 25 years working at the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD). He has held supervisory positions within the department's detective division, second squad, served as deputy commanding officer of NCPD's public information office, and acted as sergeant of the Highway Patrol Bureau and the Nassau County Police Academy.

Repalone started his career as an officer assigned to the 113th Precinct of the New York City Police Department. During his six years at the precinct, he was a member of the robbery squad and uniform and anti-crime patrols. He earned a bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences at NYIT.

"I'm looking forward to fulfilling the demands and expectations of my position," adds Repalone. "Most important to me is the opportunity to serve and interact with all the wonderful people that make up this beautiful university."
