On June 5, H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, the United Arab Emirates Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received an honorary degree at NYIT-Abu Dhabi’s sixth graduation ceremony. President Guiliano praised Sheikh Nahayan’s creation and implementation of policies for education and human resource development in the United Arab Emirates, conferred degrees, and delivered an address urging graduates to innovate and cultivate “an interconnected mentality” as they pursue their careers or additional schooling. NYIT Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Rahmat A. Shoureshi, Ph.D., conferred degrees to NYIT-Vancouver’s Class of 2012 during a ceremony and luncheon on June 8. President Guiliano congratulated NYIT’s newest alumni in a video greeting. Among the graduates from NYIT-Vancouver’s Class of 2012 is Ravi Muti, who recently won a “Top 25 Under 25” award from the Surrey Board of Trade in recognition of his entrepreneurship and leadership skills. On June 9, the accomplishments of 311 students graduating from NYIT-Nanjing were celebrated by President Guiliano, NYIT Board of Trustees Chairperson Linda Davila, Chief of Staff Peter C. Kinney III, and Director of Alumni Relations Jennifer Kelly. One significant accomplishment of note: Of those graduating, nearly 99 percent have received job offers or are pursuing graduate degrees.
