College of Osteopathic Medicine faculty and staff members who received distinguished teaching and service awards:

Min Chung (Amanda) Han, Ph.D. (mhan07@nyit.edu), assistant professor of management at NYIT-Nanjing, published the article, "A Study on the Effects of Motivations on Attitudes Toward Advertisements-A Focus on Sina Weibo," in the August 2013 edition of The E-Business Studies, and gave an invited talk, "Introduction of International Business," to Jeju government officials at the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Human Resource Development Center, July 25 in China.

Michael Schwarting (jschwart@nyit.edu), professor of architecture, and Frances Campani (fcampani@nyit.edu), associate professor of architecture, are featured in the article, "House of Light and Air Seeks New Home," in the September 2013 issue of Architectural Record. The article describes their plan for reconstructing Aluminaire House, the first prefabricated all-metal house made in the United States and a past NYIT architecture project, as part of a historic district in Sunnyside Gardens, N.Y.

Peter Voci (pvoci@nyit.edu), professor of fine arts, has been appointed to serve on the editorial board of Merge, the journal of the International Society of Academic/Art Practice and Theory. The society offers a forum for academicians, artists, researchers, and professionals who recognize the entwined scope of artistic and intellectual pursuits.

Staff members for the NYIT Vocational Independence Program (VIP) published the article, "Using Apps to Aid at School, Home, and Transitioning to Post-Secondary Environments," in the September 2013 edition of Exceptional Parent magazine, including:
