Patricia Chute, Ed.D. (pchute@nyit.edu), dean of the School of Health Professions, is a featured author in the August 2013 issue of Access Academics and Research, a bimonthly e-newsletter published by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Her article, "Clinician-Researcher Collaborations: Strengthening Clinical Outcomes through Science," discusses the critical need for and importance of clinician-scientist partnerships as well as the benefits and challenges in establishing and implementing this type of research relationship. Terese Coe (tcoe@nyit.edu), adjunct professor of English, published two poems in the July 2013 issue of Free Inquiry, the magazine of the Council on Secular Humanism, and an English translation of German poet Heinrich Heine's "I Don't Believe" on June 28 in the Irish literary magazine, Crannog.

Eduard Dedkov, M.D., Ph.D. (ededkov@nyit.edu), assistant professor of biomedical sciences, presented the research poster, "Long-Term Ivabradine Treatment Does Not Preserve Myocardial Perfusion and Coronary Reserve in Middle-Aged Rats with Large Myocardial Infarction," at the American Heart Association's Basic Cardiovascular Sciences 2013 Scientific Sessions: Pathways to Cardiovascular Therapeutics, July 22-25 in Las Vegas. The meeting abstract was published in Circulation Research 2013. Read more.

John Hanc (jhanc@nyit.edu), associate professor of communication arts, published a letter from the adviser on Sept. 2 in The Campus Slate. He serves as faculty adviser for NYIT-Old Westbury's student newspaper. Read more.

Ernst VanBergeijk, Ph.D. (evanberg@nyit.edu), associate dean and executive director of the NYIT Vocational Independence Program, published the online article, "Assessing an Institution for Students with Mental Illness," Sept. 3 at i-studentglobal.com.
