NYIT's annual Cyber Security Conference on Sept. 20 in Manhattan discussed how individuals and organizations can protect themselves against escalating cyber attacks. President Guiliano addressed conference attendees about the university's commitment to finding solutions to this worldwide problem and training students for positions in the field.

NYIT One of 16 Transformative Projects Up for LIREDC Funding

The Long Island Regional Economic Development Council (LIREDC) submitted a one-year progress report to New York state, providing detail on its achievements against a five-year strategic plan, including NYIT's progress in establishing an Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center. The report also includes a list of 16 Long Island priority projects endorsed by LIREDC for a second round of the funding.

College of Osteopathic Medicine Announces New Dean Congratulations to Wolfgang Gilliar, D.O., who has been appointed as the new dean of NYIT's College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has served as a professor and chair of the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine since 2004 and was recently named the 2012 Educator of the Year by the American Osteopathic Foundation. His selection was formalized at last week's convocation ceremony for 650 students in the College of Osteopathic Medicine and the School of Health Professions. He will officially start work as dean on Jan. 1, 2013. ...more

Meet Jeffrey Raven

Architecture is a family tradition for Jeffrey Raven, NYIT's new director of the Master of Architecture in Urban and Regional Design, who joins the college from Columbia University and brings more than 20 years of experience, including running his namesake firm, RAVEN A+U - Architecture + Urban Design LLC. Longer still is an appreciation for architecture gleaned from living in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
