Meet Beverly J. Butcher, Ph.D.

In 2009, when Associate Professor Beverly J. Butcher, Ph.D., was employed at a university in northern Florida, she taught courses on multicultural literature and writing as well as the work of female authors in China. It was the latter courses on the writings of Nobel Prize winner Pearl Buck's The Exile and Fighting Angel and Anchee Min's Red Azalea and Empress Orchid that Butcher says invoked her longing to return to China, where she had lived four years previously, in Taiwan and Shanghai. Now, she directs the NYIT Center for Humanities and Culture at NUPT and chairs the English department at NYIT's Nanjing campus.

Join colleagues from NYIT campuses around the globe to discuss ways that instructor feedback to students can improve student learning. President Guiliano Welcomes New Students in Nanjing, China NYIT President Edward Guiliano and NUPT President Yang Zhen welcomed 324 freshmen to the NYIT-Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications dual degree program on Oct. 11 in Nanjing, China. The two presidents were joined by faculty and staff from NYIT and NUPT for an opening ceremony. ...more
