Celebrate Archtober at NYIT

NYIT will host several events this month as part of Archtober, a festival of special tours, lectures, films, and exhibitions presented by the American Institute of Architects' New York chapter and participating architectural organizations. The October celebration will raise awareness of the importance of architecture and design by involving local communities and encouraging international recognition of New York's built environment.

Architecture Professor Discusses Sustainable Cities at Cambridge University Jeffrey Raven, associate professor and director of NYIT's Master of Architecture in Urban and Regional Design program, presented a half-day workshop, "Sustainable Cities: Shaping Resilient Communities for the 21st Century," on Sept. 20 at his alma mater, Cambridge University in England. Workshop participants included delegates from the TianJin Economic Technological Development Area in China, which has attracted dozens of engineering and technology research centers and a new eco-district. ...more
