High School Students Showcase Engineering and Technology Projects at NYIT NYIT hosted a competition on April 29 for high school students to exhibit their science and engineering projects at the Old Westbury campus. Students came from all over Long Island, N.Y., including Brentwood, Commack, Manhasset, and Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High Schools. This is the third year that NYIT’s School of Engineering and Computing Sciences has organized the competition in partnership with ConnectToTech, a volunteer organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting students to connect to technology educational and career opportunities. ...more

R.S.V.P. for Faculty Scholars Reception

The 13th Faculty Scholars Reception will be held on Thursday, May 1, 4-6 p.m. at NYIT de Seversky Mansion. All NYIT faculty and staff members are invited to attend this year's event. The reception will recognize the hard work and persistence of faculty in 2013 who have received an external or internal research, pedagogical, or infrastructural grant; published or edited a book or journal; published original research in a nationally recognized peer-reviewed journal or in a book; presented original research or creative work in a major public forum; produced a major creative work; obtained a patent; or received a prize or award from an outside organization honoring creative activity or scholarly attainment.
