The ASEE "SMART" Scholarship Deadline is Approaching!

The ASEE SMART Scholarship is an acedemic award offered through the Department of Defense for both graduate and undergraduate students in STEM disciplines. Accepted SMART Scholars receive $25,000-$41,000 toward their tuition, plus funds for books, health insurance, and a stipend for summer  internships at DoD facilities. 

 

The DoD established this presigious scholarship program to support the educational needs of America's future scientists and engineers. SMART is a Scholarship-for-Service Program that is part of the Department of Defense's concentrated effort to improve the flow of new, highly-skilled technical labor into its facilities, and to better ensure America's safety. The SMART Scholarship is a great opportunity for students interested in gaining employment in STEM fields that will allow them to continue their research in civil service roles following graduation.

 

SMART Scholarships are available to students studying:

Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, Biosciences, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Information Sciences, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics, among several other fields of study.
