Transforming Undergraduate Education Workshop

The workshop will highlight collaborations among the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and the schools of Education and Engineering and Computing Sciences, with a focus on wireless technology in health care. Topics will include:
-NYIT initiatives to enhance the electrical and computer engineering curriculum by integrating wireless technology.
-Exploration of wireless projects through hands-on experiences.
-A showcase of exemplary student projects, including a Sleep Apnea Monitoring Alarm System, a Wireless ECG Monitoring, a Real-Time UV Monitoring System, and an Alcohol Detection System.

There will be opportunities to exchange ideas with participants on improving student experiences in STEM education and ways to establish bridges with high schools, community colleges, and other universities. The event is part of a National Science Foundation grant to stimulate student interest in STEM fields and help introduce students to exciting opportunities in STEM research and careers.

Who Should Attend: High school science teachers, college faculty, and students.
