In a world where information-centric processes keep expanding, businesses need to efficiently manage massive volumes of data with minimal risk. The mainframe has always been the IT industry’s leading platform for transaction processing, consolidated and secure data serving, and supporting enterprise-wide applications. Today, with IT innovations in high-performance computing, big data, cloud computing, virtualization, and cyber-security protocols, enterprise systems (ES) help large entities reshape their clients’ IT experience by extending the mainframe platform. ES solutions assist developers and IT professionals in navigating a maze of new applications and leveraging dynamic, intelligent resource management tools that simplify operations.
On Thursday, Feb. 28, New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) will host ES industry leaders and academic experts who will discuss industry breakthroughs and best practices. They will present on ES directions and trends; implications on R&D and industry requirements for workforce development; and academic preparation of the next generation of practitioners.
This event, hosted by NYIT in association with the IBM Academic Initiative and industry sponsor Vicom Infinity in conjunction with New York Technology Council, is open to faculty, students, and IT representatives from the commercial and public sectors.
