Old Westbury, NY (July 8, 2010) – New York Institute of Technology head women’s basketball coach Anthony Crocitto has announced the signing of seven recruits for the 2010-2011 season.
“I cannot say enough about this class,” said Crocitto. “My assistants and our returners worked hard to replace the talented athletes who graduated and we have an excellent incoming class. I believe we successfully recruited our motto; C.A.B. - Character, Academics, and Basketball.”
The recruiting class features transfers Cierra Baker, a junior from division one Longwood University, Rebecca Lynch a sophomore from division one St. Peter's College, Tiffany Seymour a junior from division one Fairleigh Dickinson University, Anna Komnenovic, a sophomore out of Miami Dade Community College and Chantel Diaz, a junior from Santa Monica Community College.
"Cee Cee is expected to improve our team at the three and four positions while giving us leadership, energy and passion and Rebecca provides us with a multiple threat, shooting the three, taking the opponent off the dribble and posting up," said Crocitto. “Tiffany will help us improve upon our rebounding struggles from a year ago while adding great depth at the four and five positions. Anna plays with great energy and passion and can score from both the high and low post and Chantel is a threat both on the inside and outside.”
Two true freshman in Megan Eastwood, Amityville HS, and Alex Venuto, from Ossining, NY, will both have the opportunity to play right away. Megan and Alex can both shoot the ball extremely well and will stretch the defense with their great range,” added Crocitto.
