Men's Basketball Picked No. 6 in ECC Preseason Poll

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Oct. 28, 2011) - NYIT men's basketball was selected to finish sixth in the East Coast Conference, it was announced in the preseason coaches poll on Friday. The Bears finished the 2010-2011 campaign with a 13-15 overall record and a 10-11 ECC mark. NYIT advanced the conference semifinals.
Reigning ECC Champions C.W. Post was selected as the conference favorite with five first-place votes. Bridgeport was chosen second with three first-place votes and league newcomer, District of Columbia rounds out the top-three with one first-place vote.
Pioneers senior guard Stefan Bonneau earned Preseason Player of the Year honors.
NYIT men's basketball opens the 2011-2012 season on Friday, Nov. 11 when it hosts American International. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Recreation Hall.
