CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Nov. 21, 2011) - After leading NYIT women's basketball to its first win of the season with 32 points, senior Cierra Baker (Windsor, Conn.) was honored by the East Coast Conference with Co-Player of the Week accolades, it was announced Monday by the league. The honor is Baker's first of the season as the Bears improved to 1-2 on the season.
Baker produced a near triple-double with 32 points, 10 rebounds and nine steals in NYIT's lone game of the week against Chestnut Hill. Baker shot .625 (10-for-16) from the field and was .800 (12-for-15) from the free throw line. She also posed one block and dished out six assists.
NYIT returns to action on Monday, Nov. 21 on the road at Concordia. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. in Bronxville, N.Y.
