Vito Russo Documentary and Michael Schiavi on HBO

L.A. documentarian Jeffrey Schwarz's superb film about Vito Russo, had its world premiere on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center.  Schiavi described it as superb, a perfect tribute to Vito and his legacy to the LGBT community.  Featuring original interviews of Lily Tomlin, Larry Kramer, Michelangelo Signorile, Armistead Maupin, Bruce Vilanch, Arnie Kantrowitz, and the late Arthur Evans, among dozens of others, Vito is a comprehensive portrait not only of the man himself, but of twenty years of gay and AIDS activism.  

HBO will also air VITO on the following dates:

July 31 (12:45 p.m.)
August 4 (3:00 p.m.)
August 8 (9:15 a.m.)
