The event, held at NYIT's Manhattan campus and sponsored by NYIT's College of Arts and Sciences, featured 88 research abstracts by more than 205 undergraduate and graduate students, who represented all of NYIT's campuses and schools.
"SOURCE is critical to NYIT's interdisciplinary focus," said Roger Yu, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. "Students from a vast array of programs come together to learn from others, share their perspectives, and gain real-world experience in presenting their academic work." Faculty and student attendees also enjoyed a keynote presentation by Sydney Perkowitz, Emory University professor emeritus of physics, who spoke on the topic "Science and Art: Closer Than You Think."
At the conclusion of the program, each student received a certificate of recognition from Rahmat A. Shoureshi, NYIT provost and vice president for academic affairs.
