The Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies is a nonprofit, international think tank founded in 2004 which includes members from Italy, Sweden, Canada, Germany, and the United States (among other places). By promoting and publicizing the work of international thinkers who examine the social implications of scientific and technological progress, they seek to contribute to the understanding of the impact of emerging technologies on individuals and societies, locally and globally. They also aim to help produce benefits and reduce the risks of technological advancement. This invitation was, in part, prompted by Dr. LaGrandeur's recent presentations in Europe.
